ELLIS VIOLA'S BRUTAL ATTACK IN COVENTRY NIGHTCLUB LEAVES EX-GIRLFRIEND WITH SERIOUS INJURIES

In a disturbing incident that unfolded outside a nightclub in Coventry, 18-year-old Ellis Viola was involved in a violent assault that has shocked the local community. The assault was directed at his former girlfriend, Jade Kavanagh, and has been described by authorities as both vicious and sustained.

According to reports, the incident occurred in the early hours of June 25, when Miss Kavanagh was standing outside the nightclub, engaged in conversation with a male friend. Viola approached her in a confrontational manner, attempting to coerce her into accompanying him. Despite her resistance, Viola's aggression escalated rapidly. During a physical struggle, Miss Kavanagh was pushed to the ground, and Viola responded with a series of brutal kicks to her face. Witnesses described the attack as particularly savage, with Viola delivering between four and six kicks with a shod foot while she was curled up, trying to protect herself.

After the initial assault, Miss Kavanagh managed to get back on her feet and reached for her phone in an attempt to seek help. However, Viola's violence did not cease. He knocked her down once more, dragging her along the ground before finally releasing her. As she attempted to escape in a taxi, Viola continued to shout abuse at her, further demonstrating the aggressive nature of the attack.

The consequences for Miss Kavanagh were severe. She sustained a broken jaw that necessitated surgical intervention, including the insertion of a metal plate, as well as a fractured nose. The attack's brutality was highlighted during the court proceedings, with the prosecution describing the assault as both 'sustained' and 'vicious.'

Ellis Viola pleaded guilty to charges of inflicting grievous bodily harm but denied having any intent to cause serious injury. This plea was accepted by the prosecution, who emphasized the severity of the attack despite Viola's claims of lack of intent. In sentencing, Recorder Jacqueline Carey sentenced Viola to 20 months in detention. A restraining order was also issued to prevent him from making any contact with Miss Kavanagh in the future.
