GIRVAN MAN IN COURT OVER KNIFE THREAT AND ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR
A MAN allegedly shouted and swore while brandishing a blade in Girvan.Edward Ryan, aged 37, faced charges at Ayr Sheriff Court for carrying a blade and threatening or abusive behaviour.
It is alleged that he had a sharply pointed article, specifically a knife, while in Linden Avenue and Roxburgh Road on April 25 this year.
He is accused of causing fear and alarm by shouting, swearing, and acting aggressively "while brandishing a knife".
The case states he later shouted, swore, and made threats of violence at an address in Roxburgh Road, with the added detail of abuse towards a partner or ex-partner.
The Crown's indictment notes these offences were committed while Ryan was already subject to an undertaking to appear in court on other matters on April 30, 2025.
Ryan, who is currently in custody, pleaded not guilty to the charges during a pre-trial hearing and will face the allegations again at a later date.
