GATESHEAD MAN SENTENCED FOR STALKING WOMAN AND HARASSMENT
Edward Cormack, 68, of Iris Terrace, Crawcook, Gateshead, stalked a woman and bombarded her with unwanted emails.
This harassment occurred between March and April last year, during which he left voicemails on her phone, visited her former place of work, and attempted to gather information about her through online research.
Cormack appeared at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on February 5, facing a single charge of stalking without causing alarm, fear, or distress.
He was found guilty of this charge after a trial, and was fined £550, ordered to pay £620 court costs, and received a £220 surcharge.
He was also given a 12-month conditional discharge and a restraining order that prevents him from contacting the victim or approaching her residence.
