EBRAHIM PANDOR AND AMJAD HUSSAIN SENTENCED IN YORKSHIRE SEX TRAFFICKING CASE
In a significant development in the ongoing fight against sexual exploitation and trafficking in West Yorkshire, two men have been formally sentenced for their involvement in a long-standing investigation that uncovered disturbing abuse and trafficking activities spanning over a decade.Ebrahim Pandor, aged 44 and residing on Highdale Road, was sentenced to six years in prison after being found guilty of trafficking a young girl when she was only 13 years old.
The court heard how Pandor played a role in the exploitation of this vulnerable victim, part of a broader pattern of abuse that authorities have been working tirelessly to dismantle.
Alongside Pandor, another man, Amjad Hussain, aged 45 and from Lee Street in Ravensthorpe, was sentenced to a decade behind bars.
However, Hussain was tried in absentia, as he was not present in court at the time of sentencing.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed that efforts to locate Hussain are ongoing, emphasizing their commitment to bringing him to justice.
These sentences are part of a larger crackdown known as Operation Tourway, which has resulted in the incarceration of a total of 28 men.
The operation focused on investigating the sexual abuse and trafficking of eight females in the north Kirklees area, with investigations stretching from 1999 to 2012.
The extensive police effort has uncovered a disturbing pattern of grooming, exploitation, and abuse over many years.
During the court proceedings at Leeds Crown Court, jurors heard harrowing accounts of how victims were targeted and manipulated by their abusers.
The court was told that these offenders treated the victims almost as commodities, highlighting the severity and depravity of the crimes committed.
Police officials have revealed that the combined sentences handed down to the 28 men involved in the case amount to nearly 400 years of imprisonment.
Detective Chief Inspector Oliver Coates expressed regret that Hussain was sentenced in his absence but reassured the public that authorities are actively working to locate him.
Coates stated, “Officers have been working with partner agencies to locate him and are keeping an open mind as to his whereabouts.” The investigation continues, and authorities remain committed to ensuring that all those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
