DERRY WEBSTER, KNOWN AS 'MR PONTIN', DETECTED IN PAIGNTON AND CONVICTED OF CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES

Background: Derry Webster, often referred to by the nickname 'Mr Pontin' due to his previous employment at Pontins holiday camp in Paignton, was asked to leave that position following multiple allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving young people. Despite these accusations, he was never formally charged for such offences.

Webster has since passed away, but authorities emphasize the importance of informing the public about his criminal convictions. It is notable that numerous offences related to the sexual assault of children were never prosecuted against him.

In addition to his own offences, Webster was linked to a disturbing case involving a dealer of child abuse images. His most notorious customer was reportedly a leading political figure.

In January 1978, Webster was involved in a case where a musician was jailed for possessing child abuse images, highlighting the severity and ongoing issues surrounding such crimes.
