A woman sustained a broken leg after her partner threw her off the bed during an alcohol-fueled argument, a court was informed.
Derek Norton was responsible for the assault, and afterward he kicked her injured leg before leaving for a pub.
The victim, Maureen Gorst, who is 63 years old, continues to rely on crutches eight months after the incident and is projected to require walking support for an additional three months.
She sent a letter to the judge requesting consideration of leniency.
Norton, 56, admitted to causing grievous bodily harm and was sentenced to 20 months in prison.
He has also been convicted of common assault for spitting in her face during a separate altercation, for which he received a conditional discharge.
Norton resides on Elliott Street in Tyldesley.
