2006: MAN JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND BITING HIS GIRLFRIEND'S NOSE
2006: A man named Robert Webb, aged 32, was sentenced to 18 months in prison following an assault on his girlfriend that involved grabbing her by the throat and biting her on the nose.
The incident occurred early in the morning of September 10 last year and was heard at Liverpool Crown Court.
Webb, who was reportedly drinking at the time, questioned his partner about her whereabouts, then proceeded to punch her, choke her, and bite her on the nose.
Prosecutor Miss Claire Jones described how Webb eventually released her to go and make a drink, then dragged her by the feet, squeezed her throat, and threatened her life.
The woman managed to escape into the bathroom and lock the door, but Webb later re-entered, pulled her by the hair into the bedroom, where she fell asleep.
Webb pleaded guilty to a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm.
The judge, Denis Clark, remarked, 'Women and partners should no longer tolerate this; violence, especially when alcohol is involved, must stop.'
