DENNIS FORREST FROM ABERDEEN FOUND GUILTY OF RAPE AND DOMESTIC ABUSE IN SHOCKING CASE
A man from Fraserburgh, Dennis Forrest, aged 60, has been convicted of committing two separate rapes and engaging in a nearly four-decade-long campaign of domestic abuse against four women. The case was heard at the High Court in Aberdeen, where evidence detailed a series of heinous crimes spanning from 1985 to 2022.Forrest’s criminal behavior included physical assaults, controlling and coercive tactics, and attempts to isolate his victims from their families. One particularly disturbing incident involved him sending an intimate photograph to a woman with the malicious intent of causing her to lose her job. During the trial, a victim recounted how Forrest fabricated a story about his grandmother’s death to offshore bosses, using this falsehood as a pretext to confront a woman he suspected of seeing her family behind his back. Forrest, who worked internationally as a drill supervisor, now faces sentencing scheduled for July.
Throughout the proceedings, victims provided harrowing accounts of their experiences. These included being raped against their will, being physically assaulted for maintaining contact with their families, and being pressured into sex during the 1990s under duress. Several victims also described receiving threatening voicemails from Forrest, further illustrating the extent of his abusive behavior. One woman testified about how Forrest assaulted her after she caught him downloading pornographic films, which he claimed were movies like Hancock and Animal Farm. Another victim revealed how Forrest behaved abusively by sending her intimate images to her employer and demanding constant updates on her whereabouts.
During the trial, Forrest took the stand in his own defense. He denied all allegations, claiming to be 'ice cool sometimes, almost too laid back.' Despite his defense, the judge ordered his remand ahead of sentencing, warning that imprisonment was inevitable. The court also confirmed that Forrest would be required to register as a sex offender, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the impact on his victims.
