JAIL FOR MAN AFTER STRANGLING EX-PARTNER IN NORFOLK
Lokietek, of no fixed address, appeared at court this week having admitted an offence of intentional strangulation, harassment and three counts of assault.The woman had been in a relationship with Denis Lokietek which ended in February 2024, but he refused to accept the split.
In August 2024, he turned up at her address in Watton and pushed her backwards into the property, striking her to the face.
Despite bail conditions not to contact her, he continued to flout them, contacting her and attending her address multiple times.
In October 2024, he insisted "you should be" when she told him she was not scared, before grabbing her by the neck with both hands, making her feel she could not breathe.
The victim hit him around 10-11 times and had to go to hospital after breaking her hand trying to get him off her.
Lokietek admitted to intentional strangulation, harassment, and multiple assaults.
A 35-month jail sentence was imposed, and a restraining order bans him from contacting her for seven years.
The impact statement read out in court highlighted her suffering from night terrors and mental health effects due to his actions.
