MAN WHO SUBJECTED FORMER PARTNER TO ABUSE ONLINE & MAKING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN JAILED
For over three years, a woman endured harmful online communications from her former partner.Following a detailed and complex investigation, Declan Guess was sentenced to three and a half years in prison on Thursday, 12 February, at Leicester Crown Court.
He was also issued a restraining order, a sexual harm prevention order, and will be registered as a sex offender.
The victim had been in a relationship with Guess, who is 24 years old.
After their breakup, Guess began disseminating intimate photos of her that were taken during her teenage years.
In October 2022, the victim’s family reported that strangers were visiting their home with the intent of engaging her in sexual activity.
When confronted, these visitors showed online posts advertising the victim as providing sexual services.
An investigation linked Guess to these malicious postings.
When authorities seized his mobile device, they discovered a number of intimate images of the victim, as well as indecent photos of other children and images depicting bestiality.
Throughout the investigation, over 500 indecent images of children were found on his electronic devices.
Further evidence from his devices indicated additional online offenses, leading to his re-arrest in June 2025 for stalking.
In August 2025, a Stalking Protection Order was granted by the court, banning Guess from contacting the victim in any manner, whether face-to-face, online, or through third parties.
Despite this, he violated the order in September 2025 by following the victim on Instagram, resulting in his arrest and detention.
He faced multiple charges, including stalking, breaching the protection order, possession of extreme pornographic material, and multiple counts of making and distributing indecent images of children.
Just this week, Guess was scheduled for trial but entered a guilty plea on the first day to charges of stalking and distributing indecent images of children, categorized as A and C.
