POLICE HUNT FOR COVENTRY RAPIST AMRIT CHAHAL
Law enforcement has issued an urgent appeal to locate a man wanted on suspicion of raping a woman in Coventry.Authorities are attempting to locate Amrit Chahal, who has been on the run since May of the previous year.
Chahal is sought by West Midlands Police following an incident in Gosford Park where a woman in her twenties was assaulted.
The attack is believed to have occurred at approximately 12:20 am on May 1, 2024.
Investigators have announced on January 29 that the suspect also uses the name Amritpal Singh.
Detectives have identified that Chahal maintains connections to Coventry, Walsall, and Leicestershire.
The police confirmed that the victim has been receiving specialized support since the assault, and increased patrols are now present in the Gosford Park area.
In their statement released today, West Midlands Police reaffirmed their ongoing efforts to locate Amrit Chahal, also known as Amritpal Singh, in relation to the Coventry incident.
They urged the public: “If you see him, call 999 immediately and provide the crime reference number 20/454525/24.” The police also mentioned that besides Coventry, Chahal may have associations with Walsall and Leicestershire.
Authorities are still investigating the case, which took place shortly after midnight on May 1.
