GWENT POLICE’S DEAN NOCIVELLI ‘GAVE GIRLFRIEND BLACK EYE’
A Gwent Police officer was dismissed when a misconduct panel found he gave his girlfriend a black eye after punching her in the face.Sergeant Dean Nocivelli was fired for ‘gross misconduct’ after the impact of the blow caused a bed to break at their home.
The incident occurred following a row after a night out in Newport.
The woman suffered a swollen left eye, a cut lip, swollen face, black upper lip, and bruising.
Nocivelli denied the allegations, claiming the injuries were accidental after heads clashed during an incident in their bedroom.
The panel concluded his misconduct was very serious and amounts to gross misconduct, and he will be added to the College of Police’s barred list.
He joined Gwent Police as a constable in April 2008 and was informed of the complaint in October 2023.
Nocivelli and the victim had been in a relationship from 2007 to 2010, after meeting at university, and had taken out a mortgage together in 2009.
