MAN BITES GUIDE DOG IN EDINBURGH
A man identified as David Todd, aged 34, was involved in an alleged assault on his guide dog in a busy street in Edinburgh.Eyewitnesses reported that Todd dragged the eight-year-old Labrador/ Retriever cross across the road before sinking his teeth into its head and kicking its body.
As a result of this incident, Todd was arrested by police and faced charges of breach of the peace and animal cruelty.
The guide dog, which was hurt during the attack, was taken into protective care by police and handed over to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
The incident was alleged to have taken place earlier in the month, and Todd’s actions drew significant concern from the community and animal welfare groups.
