PERTH GROUNDSKEEPER FINED FOR THREATENING BEHAVIOR AFTER SHOWING WOMAN SELF-PIERCED PENIS PHOTO
A Perth groundskeeper who pestered a healthcare worker and showed her a photo of his DIY penis piercing was told by a sheriff: “You misread the room, very badly.” David Bruscaglia’s victim said she feared she was going to be raped when he turned up at her home uninvited and showed her the naked selfie on his phone.Bruscaglia, 57, was originally charged with stalking the woman near Crieff Road.
After a day of evidence at Perth Sheriff Court, he pled guilty to an amended charge of acting in a threatening or abusive way that caused his victim fear or alarm.
Prosecutors confirmed there was no significant sexual element to the offence.
The victim, a 50-year-old healthcare worker, described how her interactions with Bruscaglia, the grounds maintenance person, turned 'a bit weird.' He once stepped inside her flat uninvited and showed her a naked photo of his pierced penis, making her feel disgusted.
Bruscaglia returned later and showed her the photo on his phone, which she described as feeling like she was about to be raped.
The court heard Bruscaglia admitted to police that he said to her he had “pierced my knob” and confirmed that it was a photo of his penis, but said it could have been anyone’s.
He also told police she commented on the size of his piercing.
The sheriff fined him £500 and imposed a non-harassment order preventing him from contacting the victim for a year.
Sheriff Clair McLachlan remarked, “You effectively misread the room very badly,” acknowledging the seriousness of the distress caused.
