NEWCASTLE MAN, DAVID ROBSON, CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT AFTER TWO WOMEN REPORTS IN 15 MINUTES
2018 - The 22-year-old, of Rosehill Way, Blakelaw, appeared in custody in the dock at South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court.He faced two counts of sexual assault, three of exposing his genitals, two of assaulting a female by beating and one of criminal damage.
Robson entered not guilty pleas to all the charges, which were alleged to have happened between August 17 and 18.
The court was told that all of Robson’s suspected victims were strangers.
Prosecutor Laura Croft said that, taken together, the offences were so serious that the case should be sent to the crown court.
She added: “I would invite you to allocate this to the crown court for trial.
“There’s five separate incidents where the defendant has allegedly approached females and assaulted them or exposed himself.
“Individually, the charges might have been suitable for this court but, because of totality, I would say it’s suitable for the crown court.” Aside from entering his pleas, Robson spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth, address and nationality.
2025- A man has been charged with multiple offences following two reports of sexual assault in Newcastle.
Police received a report that a woman had been sexually assaulted by a man on Barrack Road just after 2am on Saturday, August 23.
When officers arrived, a second woman also reported being sexually assaulted approximately 15 minutes earlier in the same area.
The suspect, identified as David Robson, 29, of Rosehill Way, Blakelaw, has been charged with a string of offences related to these incidents.
He has been charged with attempted kidnap or false imprisonment with intent to commit a relevant sexual offence concerning the first report.
Additionally, he faces charges of sexual assault, assault causing actual bodily harm, and intentional strangulation related to the second report.
Police confirm Robson remains in custody and is due to appear before magistrates in Newcastle.
Both women continue to receive support from specially trained police officers.
Authorities urge the public to avoid speculation during ongoing legal proceedings and remind that victims have the right to anonymity.
