GLASGOW MAN FINED FOR DRAGGING GIRLFRIEND BY HAIR AND RACIAL ABUSE
A BIGOTED brute called his girlfriend a ‘fenian b*****d’ and dragged her through their home by her hair after she finished with him.Pint-sized thug David Mackay, 45, attacked Bernadette Brannan, 42, by shoving her out of the home and repeatedly smacking the front door off her as she cowered in fear.
Sheriff Joanna Johnston QC told him: “This behaviour was vicious.” Mackay and Bernadette met in 2017 and moved in the following year – but cracks began to show in their relationship.
By July last year, she had enough and plucked up the courage to tell him it was over.
She said: “I told him if things weren’t working, I’d go – but we have to sit down and work out how we will divide things.” “He started shouting stuff at me like a fenian b*****d and other abuse.
“I walked away into the kitchen and that’s when he flew towards me.” Prosecutor Sean Docherty told the court: “The accused referred to the complainer as a c**t and a little rat.
“The accused approached her, grabbed her by the hair and dragged her from the kitchen to the living room while shouting and swearing.
“The accused stated ‘stop, you’re hurting me.’ “The accused opened the front door and pushed her out the door, forced her to the ground and closed the door.” Mackay left the home as cops were called – and he was arrested shortly afterwards.
She was left in shock with bruising to the right leg and sore head and neck.
Mackay maintained his not guilty plea until the morning of his trial last month before he admitted two charges under the Abusive Behaviour and Sexual Harm Act.
They included shouting, swearing, acting in an aggressive manner, uttering offensive remarks and repeatedly striking her on the body with a door to her injury.
The Rangers fan used to be director of his own company Alumac and paid for pitch-side advertising at Ibrox before the company folded.
Snivelling Mackay tried to deny survivor Bernadette’s version of events – despite admitting it in court.
When asked why he called Bernadette a fenian b*****d, Mackay said: “That’s all false.
Did that go through court?
“I got a community payback order, I didn’t drag anybody through the house.
“Say what you want.”
