Six years for sex attack on teenager A CONVICTED rapist who carried out a sex attack on a 16-year-old girl was jailed for six years at the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday.

David Hutchison (35) was said to have threatened the teenager with death if she did not submit to him.

He told her he would then dump her body where no-one would find it.

The court heard after the verdict was announced that Hutchison had been jailed for six years in 1978 for the attempted rape of two teenage girls in 1978 in Dunfermline.

He had appeared before the High Court in Edinburgh at that time.

Yesterday Hutchison, former nightclub bouncer, of Crossford, was found guilty to charges of assaulting the 16-year-old girl in Dunfermline on September 1 last year — threatening to rape and kill her and abandoning her in a remote area.

The jury returned a unanimous verdict of guilty.

They also found him guilty by a majority of committing a breach of the peace at a house in Dunfermline on September 28 by knocking on a window, exposing himself to a 28-year-old woman and putting her in a state of alarm.

A third charge alleging he indecently assaulted a 24-year-old woman in a Dunfermline street was found not proven by majority vote.

The 16-year-old told the court how Hutchison had grabbed her as she entered a phone box, Hill Street, Dunfermline.

She said he forced her to perform a sex act.

The teenager said: “He said if I didn’t, he would kill me, and dump my body where no-one would find me.” She said she was so terrorised by the attack she was afraid of telling herself.

Hutchison boasted during his evidence in court that as a nightclub bouncer he had a number of sexual adventures.

He said, “The amount of sexual encounters of that nature I have had with young lasses...

it was a lot.” He claimed the girl told him she had been locked out by her boyfriend.

He said she laughed and kissed when he suggested she should come home with him.

The girl denied these claims.

She said he grabbed her from behind as she was going into a kiosk.

Passing sentence of six years, Lady Cosgrove said Hutchison had subjected the teenager to an “unpleasant and traumatic experience”.

Mr Steve MacIlwraith, defence counsel, asked the judge to take into account that Hutchison’s rape conviction happened when he was aged 17.

He said Hutchison is a father of three young children.
