DAVID HART GATESHEAD SEX PREDATOR SENTENCED AFTER PREDATORY ONLINE PLOTS
In January 2023, a disturbing case involving a known offender from Gateshead unfolded as David Hart, aged 33, was sentenced to prison after a series of heinous online predatory activities targeting minors.Hart, residing at Warwick Court in Gateshead, was found guilty of multiple serious offences related to his attempts to exploit children through deceptive online profiles.
Hart’s criminal conduct came to light when he was caught attempting to prey on young girls by creating fake social media accounts.
Under the alias Sarah Hart, he sought to establish contact with minors, specifically targeting girls aged between 12 and 14.
Additionally, he operated a secondary profile pretending to be Sarah’s father, Carl.
These profiles were part of a calculated effort to lure and manipulate vulnerable children.
Fortunately, the girls Hart contacted were not real minors but decoy profiles set up by paedophile hunting groups dedicated to catching online predators.
Despite this, Hart’s actions demonstrated a disturbing pattern of grooming and sexual predation.
Hart’s first known victim was a 14-year-old girl named Alana.
Using the fake profile of Sarah Hart, he engaged her in conversation and shockingly claimed that she had been raped at age 13 and was having sex with her father.
He then introduced the persona of Carl Hart, purportedly her father, and suggested she join him in bed.
Hart’s communications escalated to sending explicit images, discussing sex in detail, and proposing a meeting in Saltwell Park in Gateshead the following day.
In another disturbing incident, Hart contacted a decoy profile of a 12-year-old girl named Jasmine, posing as Sarah Hart.
He claimed to be a 20-year-old single mother and suggested she take a shower with her father and touch him sexually.
Hart then pretended to be Carl Hart, describing in explicit detail plans to have sex with Jasmine.
When Jasmine asked him to stop, he responded by sending a picture of his genitals.
He also encouraged her to sexually assault her 10-year-old brother and inquired about her underwear.
Further attempts involved contacting another decoy, 13-year-old Maddison.
Hart discussed the possibility of them removing their clothes and again sent a graphic image of his genitals.
Despite being confronted by paedophile hunters and police, Hart continued his predatory behavior.
He re-engaged with Jasmine, again posing as Sarah Hart, and engaged in sexual conversations.
He also impersonated Sarah’s brother and encouraged Jasmine to involve her younger brother in sexual activities.
When Jasmine was reminded she was only 12, Hart responded chillingly, “Don’t worry it’ll be our little secret.” Authorities were alerted multiple times, leading to Hart’s arrest.
The police responded swiftly after the paedophile hunting group visited his home and provided evidence of his ongoing offending.
Despite his arrest, Hart persisted in attempting to contact the decoys, demonstrating a continued pattern of predatory behavior.
At Newcastle Crown Court, Hart pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including five counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, two counts of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming, and four counts of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.
His sentencing resulted in a prison term of 54 months.
Additionally, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders register indefinitely and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for ten years, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
