MAN JAILED FOR POSSESSING NEARLY 200 INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
06/07/2025 - Released from prison according to Predator Awareness A MAN from Tipton has been jailed after police found almost 200 indecent images of children on devices hidden in the boot of his car.Additionally, 25 extreme pornographic images were found on another phone.
Officers from the West Midlands Police Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team (OCSET) swooped in on David Graham after he used images taken from unsuspecting Facebook users’ accounts, who had posted images of their children, to raise his online profile.
Graham posted these non-indecent images on online messaging boards and falsely claimed to be sexually abusing the children in the images.
These claims were proven to be false and were used to enhance his credibility as a child sex abuser online.
Officers identified the children from the images and provided support to their families.
Detective Inspector Theresa Grainger of OCSET stated: "Whilst in this case it was established that Graham hadn’t sexually abused children, we should be mindful that behind every child abuse image there is a child who has suffered at the hands of an abuser.
Accessing these images is not in any way innocent, it simply creates a continuous demand that results in more children being subjected to this horrific abuse." Graham, of Brookfield Way, Tipton, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of extreme pornographic images.
He denied other charges but was found guilty after a trial of distributing an indecent video of a child, publishing an obscene article, and making 194 indecent photographs of children, including the most serious Category A images along with Categories B and C.
He was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court last Wednesday (October 27) to two years and six months in prison.
He has been ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 15 years.
