RAPIST JAILED INDEFINITELY FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF THREE WOMEN
On 19 November 2024, David Ekpe was convicted of three criminal charges after a trial held at the High Court in Edinburgh. The court was informed that the 23-year-old had sexually assaulted a woman at a residence in Grangemouth while she was intoxicated and asleep, rendering her incapable of giving consent.
Within a span of less than three months, Ekpe committed a second sexual assault, raping another woman he met during a night out in Edinburgh.
She was also asleep and under the influence at the time of the attack.
Additionally, Ekpe sexually assaulted a third woman he matched with through a dating app.
He took her to a remote area in Cumbernauld before attacking her, but she managed to escape by running away from the vehicle and seeking help from a passing motorist.
Earlier in the legal proceedings, Ekpe admitted to breaching bail conditions on two occasions.
These offences occurred during 2022 and 2023.
On 16 December 2025, the High Court in Edinburgh sentenced Ekpe to an Order of Lifelong Restriction.
He is required to serve at least four years and six months before being eligible for parole consideration.
His name has also been permanently added to the sex offenders register.
Furthermore, non-harassment orders have been issued to prevent Ekpe from making contact or attempting to contact the three victims, with these restrictions set to remain indefinitely.
