PROLIFIC CHILD SEXUAL OFFENDER JAILED
Following a comprehensive probe by specialized officers from the Metropolitan Police, a known child sexual offender has been sentenced to prison terms.David Chellapah, age 31 (born 2 September 1994), was given a 10-year imprisonment at Isleworth Crown Court on 22 May after pleading guilty to 21 counts related to online exploitation of minors on 27 February.
The offences spanned from August to October 2025.
The investigation was initiated after authorities received intelligence indicating Chellapah was in contact with a minor and attempting to arrange a meeting for the purpose of sexual abuse.
Officers from the Met’s Central Specialist Crime Command’s Online Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation team acted quickly, arresting Chellapah on 17 October 2025 when he arrived at a pre-arranged meeting with a child intending to commit a sexual offence.
A detailed forensic review of Chellapah’s mobile devices revealed that he had been targeting multiple children aged 12 to 15 via social media platforms.
He engaged in continuous grooming, sending explicit messages, urging children to participate in sexual acts, and trying to set up further meetings.
Communications recovered during the investigation allowed police to identify numerous victims, some of whom were pressured and coerced into sharing sexual images and videos.
A search of Chellapah’s home uncovered several electronic devices, including a USB drive containing a large cache of child sexual abuse images and videos, some of which depicted very young children.
Chellapah admitted guilt in February 2026.
His charges included sexual communication with a minor, grooming to meet a minor, inciting sexual activity, and possession and production of indecent images of children.
