MAN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING TEENAGE GIRL AT PRIVATE MEMBERS’ CLUB
A man has received a prison sentence after sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl at a high-end private club in London, pressuring her into drinking alcohol.Alexander Fredericks, who is now 21, also gave wine and vodka to a 17-year-old girl and arranged a fake modelling shoot during which he took topless photographs of her, a court was told.
On Thursday, Fredericks was sentenced to four years and three months at Isleworth Crown Court after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes involving the two teenage victims.
The court was informed that the first girl, then 15, began receiving increasingly strange messages from Fredericks starting in January 2022.
Prosecutors explained that Fredericks, then 17, insisted on picking the girl up from school and traveling with her on the Tube, kissing her without her consent.
He sexually assaulted her in a secluded area of the Hurlingham Club in Fulham, where he was a member.
Prosecutor Meeno Chawla said he forced her to drink alcohol and threatened to kill himself when she tried to escape.
Although the girl blocked his attempts to contact her, Fredericks continued to reach out indirectly in August 2022, asking for nude photos, offering up to £900, and proposing to meet.
She later met him again at the Hurlingham Club after he threatened to end his life if she did not attend.
During this meeting, he pressured her to drink, touched her stomach, and attempted to kiss her, leading her to run away.
After Fredericks was arrested in October 2022, he contacted her again, falsely claiming that the police would do nothing and threatening to sue her if she did not support his version of events, court heard.
In her victim impact statement read in court, the girl described feelings of anxiety, shame, loss of confidence, and a sense of diminished self-worth caused by his actions.
In September 2022, Fredericks, then 18, contacted a 17-year-old girl via Snapchat, claiming to be from Teen Vogue and inviting her to a modelling shoot.
Believing his story, especially after receiving documents bearing a logo, the girl met him at a hotel.
He offered her wine as a prop, but pressured her into drinking, later giving her vodka.
The court was told she agreed to be photographed topless after becoming intoxicated and that Fredericks started masturbating during the shoot.
The second girl testified that she suffered from persistent fear, which severely impacted her confidence.
Judge Adenike Balogun told Fredericks, "These were serious offences involving sexual exploitation and psychological manipulation of a vulnerable individual, with devastating and enduring effects for both victims." Fredericks admitted to three counts of sexual assault, one of assault by penetration, and one of witness intimidation related to the first girl.
He also pleaded guilty to two counts of taking indecent images of children and one count of engaging in sexual activity without consent concerning the second girl.
A 10-year restraining order was issued, banning him from contacting either victim.
The court noted that he had previous convictions for offenses including sharing or threatening to share private sexual images, sexual assault, and blackmail.
Defense lawyer Kate Chidgey stated Fredericks is "absolutely appalled" by his conduct and expressed remorse for his actions.
