DAVID BUTT CAUGHT IN MARCH WITH CHILD SEXUAL OFFENSES AND NAKED PICTURES
In June 2020, a disturbing case emerged involving David Butt, a 54-year-old man from March, who engaged in inappropriate and illegal online behavior targeting minors.Butt initiated contact with young boys aged between 13 and 20 by sending friend requests on Facebook, a social media platform widely used by teenagers and young adults.
Once any of these boys accepted his friend request, Butt would immediately begin sending messages of a sexual nature.
These messages included explicit photographs of himself, which he sent without hesitation.
The content of his communications revealed a troubling pattern, with Butt indicating a willingness to travel in order to meet the boys in person, despite several of them explicitly stating that they were minors.
The police investigation uncovered these alarming behaviors, leading to Butt’s arrest and subsequent legal proceedings.
During questioning, Butt claimed that his actions were driven by feelings of loneliness, attempting to justify his inappropriate conduct.
However, the evidence against him was substantial and undeniable.
As a result of his actions, Butt was subjected to a series of legal sanctions.
He was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that will remain in effect for ten years, restricting his ability to contact minors or engage in similar behavior.
Additionally, he was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for a decade, ensuring that authorities would monitor his activities closely.
Furthermore, Butt was ordered to pay £819 in legal costs, and his mobile phone was confiscated and destroyed to prevent further misuse of digital devices.
These measures reflect the seriousness with which the justice system treated his offenses and serve as a warning to others about the consequences of such predatory behavior.
