MAN LEFT WIFE WITH MULTIPLE INJURIES AFTER ‘TRAUMATIC’ ATTACK IN HOTEL
A man from Cambridgeshire has been sentenced to prison after assaulting his wife and causing her multiple injuries.
Danny Chandler, aged 47 and residing on Whittlesey Road in March, was with his partner at a hotel in Saffron Walden on March 31, 2023.
During the incident, Chandler repeatedly attacked his wife, resulting in injuries to her head, face, stomach, and leg.
When she attempted to seek assistance by calling the police, he confiscated her phone.
She also tried to leave the room, but he pulled her back and assaulted her again.
Essex Police officers managed to trace the distress signal and found the couple at the hotel.
Following their arrival, officers arrested Chandler, who has remained in custody.
On September 5, 2025, Chelmsford Crown Court heard that Chandler admitted to causing actual bodily harm and possessing a Class A drug.
The jury also found him guilty of false imprisonment.
He received a combined sentence of six years and six months, with an additional three years on licence, and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £228.
