CONNAH'S QUAY PAEDOPHILE DAVID BLOORE FIRED BY FLINTSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

In a significant development, Flintshire County Council has officially confirmed the dismissal of a former employee from Connah's Quay following serious allegations and subsequent legal proceedings. David Bloore, who resided on Kestrel Close in Connah's Quay, had been suspended from his position with full pay back in October amid allegations related to the possession and distribution of indecent images of children.

Bloore, a senior transport assistant at the council, faced a series of criminal charges that culminated in a conviction on February 3. He was found guilty of 16 offences, which included 14 counts of downloading indecent images of children aged between two and 13, and two counts of possessing such images and videos. The court sentenced him to a two-year community order and mandated his participation in a treatment program aimed at addressing his offending behavior.

The police investigation into Bloore’s activities began when his computer was seized in January of the previous year. The device contained a disturbing collection of 619 indecent images, most of which were classified at the lowest level of severity, with 52 images at level four and a single image at level five, indicating the most serious category. Additionally, nine videos were identified at level one severity, and two at the same level. All these files were stored in unallocated folders, suggesting they had been deleted after viewing, which points to an attempt to conceal the material.

Further inquiries revealed that Bloore had been accessing members-only websites dedicated to child sex abuse on a regular basis. During police interviews, he admitted to viewing images of children aged between 14 and 16 from August 2008 to March 2010. When confronted with images of younger children, he chose not to comment but acknowledged that he could not mistake a three-year-old for a 13-year-old, highlighting the disturbing nature of his offenses.

Despite the ongoing investigation, it was reported a week prior that Bloore was still receiving his full salary, as the council stated that he was on paid leave pending the conclusion of the investigation. The authorities assured the public that the matter was nearing resolution, and by February 15, they indicated that the investigation was close to completion. However, it was only on Thursday that the council issued an official statement confirming that David Bloore was no longer employed by Flintshire County Council.

Further confirmation came from a council spokesperson on Tuesday, who stated that Mr. Bloore had been dismissed in early March following disciplinary procedures. The council declined to disclose details regarding his salary or any additional information about his employment status, emphasizing the seriousness of the case and the council’s commitment to maintaining transparency in such matters.
