Assaulted his ex-partner twice on the morning of 11th July 2025 while 4 children were present in the home.

His ex partner asked him a question which he refused to answer, she asked why and he shouted in her face, ex partner stated you can't do that to me that's intimidation he then pinned her to the bed by grabbing her hands he repeatedly pushed down on her and pushing her fists into her face causing pain to her mouth and bruising to her hand.

2 hours later he attacked her again when she attempted to pack his belongings.

He pushed her against a wardrobe and repeatedly striked her on her body using his head.

As he swung his head at his ex partner striking her on her torso he told said come on, hit me then.

She told him im not going to hit you and asked him to stop he continued till ex partner said just because your not using your fists your still assaulting me.

His ex partner later made a call to NHS 111 for emergency anxiety medication after the assault.

The nhs call handler then reported Darren mcDiarmid to the police.

He was arrested and charged with 2 counts of assault to injury.

He pleaded guilty but on the day of the trial (25th November) he took a plea deal and changed to guilty he was then convicted of 1 count of assault to injury Domestic and had a 30 month non harrassment order placed where he cannot approach or contact his ex partner.
