MAN CONVICTED OF STALKING WOMAN FOR NEARLY THREE MONTHS
Darren Cartwright engaged in a pattern of unwanted harassment directed at a woman, including sending unsolicited messages on Facebook, texting her, and making phone calls. In addition to this, the 43-year-old individual followed her as she left a Co-op, shouted abusive language at her, and caused damage to her bicycle.
Furthermore, he approached her flat’s entrance and interfered with her Ring doorbell while wearing a Halloween mask and holding an electric drill.
These incidents occurred between July 14 and September 30, as reported to Brighton magistrates, and it was noted that they significantly disrupted her daily routine.

The following day, he appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court, where he pleaded not guilty to charges of stalking causing serious alarm and distress.
The case was then postponed for a summary trial.
Recently, magistrates found him guilty of the offence, and he has been detained in Lewes Prison where he will await sentencing.
