DANNY TIPPETT FROM CAMBORNE CONVICTED OF HORRIFIC ABUSE IN TRURO
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Camborne and the surrounding areas, Danny Tippett, aged 29, has been found guilty of a series of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of two young boys. The offences took place across multiple locations, including Tippett's own flat, a leisure centre changing room, and the back of his van, highlighting a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior.Following a lengthy and emotionally charged trial at Truro Crown Court, the jury returned a verdict of guilty on all counts. Tippett faced a total of fifteen charges, which included five counts of child rape, eight counts of sexual assault against a minor, incitement to engage in sexual activity with a child, two counts of sexual activity with a child, and the possession of indecent photographs of children. The court heard detailed accounts of the abuse, which involved Tippett touching the boys sexually, coercing them into touching him, and raping them in various locations.
Despite his tearful pleas during the proceedings, where he expressed a desire to say goodbye to his children, Tippett was remanded into custody pending sentencing. His request was denied, and he will face sentencing on Friday, March 11. Prosecutor Jason Beal emphasized that the case centered around the sexual exploitation of the two young victims, with the abuse coming to light after one of the boys confided in his girlfriend. The girl subsequently informed her mother, who then contacted the mother of the complainants, triggering the investigation.
The court was told that the abuse occurred at different times and places, including Tippett's residence, the leisure centre changing rooms, and his van. Tippett was also found to have indecent images of children on his phone. During police interviews, both boys appeared visibly upset but managed to describe the traumatic events they endured. One of the victims recounted having to physically stop Tippett from raping him, illustrating the severity of the abuse.
Throughout the trial, evidence was presented that Tippett showered the victims with gifts and affection, possibly as a means of grooming and manipulation. The case has left the community in shock, raising serious concerns about the safety of children and the importance of vigilance in protecting vulnerable minors from predators like Tippett.
