DANIEL HUNT FROM MAIDENHEAD INVOLVED IN SEXUAL MISCONDUCT INCIDENT IN WALLINGFORD
A former police officer from Maidenhead, Daniel Hunt, has been at the center of a serious misconduct case after being caught in a sting operation attempting to engage in a sexual conversation with an individual he believed to be a young girl aged around 12 years old.
Hunt, who was employed by Thames Valley Police (TVP) and based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, crossed legal boundaries when he initiated communication with what he thought was a minor.
The incident took place in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, on the 14th of December, 2023.
During this interaction, Hunt not only engaged in sexually explicit dialogue but also sent an intimate photograph, further demonstrating his inappropriate intentions.
It was revealed that Hunt had resigned from Thames Valley Police in November 2024, prior to the court proceedings.
His actions led to criminal charges, and he was subsequently brought before Oxford Crown Court.
In February, Hunt pleaded guilty to attempting to communicate sexually with a minor, a serious offense that underscores the gravity of his misconduct.
The court sentenced Hunt to eight months in prison, though this sentence was suspended for 18 months, meaning he will not serve time unless he commits another offense within that period.
