OAP'S ATTACKER GIVEN SIX YEARS
A young thug has been sentenced to six years after an 80-year-old woman, Grace Kingsnorth, suffered a fractured hip during a mugging.Frost, 19, targeted Mrs.
Kingsnorth as she was walking with her husband, Roland, back to their car at Mayflower Park after shopping in Southampton.
He followed her until he saw an opportunity to pounce in a secluded alleyway, grabbing her handbag and pushing her, which caused her to stumble and break her right hip.
Frost fled but was spotted by a witness, pursued, and detained near the old town wall.
Convicted of robbery and causing grievous bodily harm at a three-day trial, Frost, of Macarthur Crescent, Bitterne, Southampton, denied the charges but admitted responsibility to a probation officer.
He has a troubled background and had recently lapsed into drug-taking.
Judge Christopher Leigh, QC, sentenced Frost, noting his pattern of increasing serious offending, and emphasized that the attack was deliberate and planned, with Frost showing no remorse.
