UK PAEDOPHILE LIVING AS PREACHER IN BULGARIA ARRESTED AFTER UK BREACH
Daniel Erickson-Hull was a British convicted paedophile who had previously been sentenced for possessing hundreds of indecent images of children.He breached strict court orders that banned him from leaving the UK without informing authorities or being alone with minors.
Erickson-Hull was found living as a self-styled evangelical preacher in a poor Roma community in the town of Sliven, Bulgaria, where he was arrested by Bulgarian police.
The regional prosecutors charged him with abusing four boys under 16 years old between January and September 2019, as confirmed by a Bulgarian prosecutor.
He had been jailed for 15 months in 2017 on child pornography charges and was under a 15-month prison sentence for similar offences at the time of his arrest.
Erickson-Hull's breach of court orders led to his arrest, and he was found in the presence of six boys at his home.
He has also violated a European Arrest Warrant (EAW), and UK police have expressed horror at his living freely abroad.
The Metropolitan Police and the National Crime Agency are involved in the ongoing investigations, with the NCA providing liaison support to Bulgarian authorities.
Despite his detention in Bulgaria, Erickson-Hull initially denied being a 'paedophile on the run' when confronted by a BBC journalist, attempting to dispute allegations that he was spending time with unaccompanied children.
