OFFENDER JAILED FOR 12 YEARS OF HORRIFIC DOMESTIC ABUSE
A man named Daniel Curry was convicted and sentenced to two years in prison after a lengthy and disturbing campaign of domestic abuse spanning over 12 years.Curry inflicted severe physical and emotional harm on three different women, including violent attacks, threats, and degrading behavior.
During the trial, it was revealed that he had thrown objects, spat in the victims' faces, and choked them.
One particularly harrowing incident involved him forcing his fingers down a woman's throat until she vomited.
Sheriff Eilidh MacDonald described Curry's crimes as some of the worst examples of domestic abuse she had encountered, emphasizing the controlling, violent, and belittling nature of his actions.
Despite initial denials, he was found guilty by a jury after a difficult trial.
The offences took place across various locations in Aberdeen, Cupar, Caithness, Edinburgh, and at a caravan park in Embo.
The court heard detailed accounts of assault, threats to harm family members, damage to property, and repeated verbal abuse, including calling his partners derogatory names and threatening to burn down a caravan with children inside.
The court also noted that some assaults occurred while a victim was pregnant.
At the sentencing, the judge remarked on Curry's dangerous and violent behavior, which had caused significant distress to his victims.
He was accordingly jailed for two years and given orders preventing him from contacting two of the victims for 10 years.
