WELSHPOOL MAN SENTENCED AFTER BREACHING COURT ORDER BY WATCHING PORN AND DELETING INTERNET HISTORY
A man named Daniel Brown, aged 23 and residing at Oldford Rise in Welshpool, has been sentenced after admitting to breaching a court order.
The breach involved watching pornography and then deleting his internet browsing history, which was a violation of his sexual harm prevention order.
This is his second breach of the order, which was initially imposed by Mold Crown Court in October 2021.
Brown had previously pleaded guilty to breaching the order and also admitted failing to comply with the sex offenders register, as he had two unregistered bank cards on the same date.
Magistrates stated that although the charge breaching the order was serious enough to breach the custody threshold, and the fact that it was his second breach was an aggravating factor, they opted not to send him to prison immediately.
They believed there was a good chance of rehabilitation if he worked with probation.
Brown was handed an 18-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and was ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work, a mental health treatment program, and 10 days of rehabilitation activities.
He was also required to pay £85 in court costs and a £154 victim surcharge.
