DANIEL BAYLEY FROM KIDLINGTON SHOCKS COMMUNITY WITH CRUELTY TO PET DOG IN OXFORDSHIRE
In a disturbing case that has shocked residents of Kidlington and the wider Oxfordshire area, Daniel Bayley, born around 1981, has been convicted of animal cruelty. Although he was formerly a resident of Kidlington, he is now known to have no fixed address, making his whereabouts more difficult to trace. The incident involved Bayley physically assaulting his pet dog, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Bailey. Witnesses reported seeing him strike the dog and then sit on him intentionally, actions that demonstrated a blatant disregard for the animal’s well-being. Additionally, Bayley was observed dragging Bailey by his collar across the ground, an act that further underscored the severity of his cruelty.
The court proceedings resulted in a conviction for Bayley, who pleaded guilty to the charges. As part of the court’s ruling, the dog Bailey was removed from Bayley’s custody to ensure his safety and well-being. The court also imposed a ban on Bayley owning any animals for a period of five years, a measure aimed at preventing similar incidents in the future.
In addition to the animal welfare orders, Bayley was fined £200 for his actions. Court costs amounting to £85 and a victim surcharge of £80 were also levied, adding to the financial penalties he faces. The case has garnered significant attention in the local community and highlights ongoing concerns about animal cruelty and the importance of enforcing animal protection laws in Oxfordshire.
