DAMON TINGAY'S HORRIFIC CRIME AT DANA PRINCESS OF WALES HOSPITAL IN GRIMSBY

A 30-year-old man named Damon Tingay has been sentenced to prison following a disturbing incident at the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby. The incident, which took place in March, involved Tingay unlawfully entering the hospital's mortuary and committing a series of heinous acts that have left a lasting impact on the victims' families and hospital staff.

According to court reports, Tingay's actions were both shocking and deeply disturbing. Over a span of approximately two hours, he was captured on CCTV footage attempting to access various sections of the hospital's mortuary. Despite being confronted and ordered to leave by security personnel, Tingay persisted in his efforts, cycling around the premises before ultimately forcing his way into the mortuary. Once inside, he remained there for about four minutes before being disturbed and fleeing the scene.

During this brief but horrifying intrusion, Tingay engaged in the disturbing act of disturbing ten bodies and performing sexual acts on two of the corpses. The staff members present described the incident as 'horrifying,' with some stating it was the worst they had ever encountered in their careers. The trauma inflicted on the families of the victims was profound; one family member expressed that they kept experiencing nightmares and found it difficult to believe what had transpired.

Legal proceedings revealed that Tingay pleaded guilty to charges of sexual penetration of a corpse and trespassing with intent to commit a sexual offence. It was also disclosed that he has a criminal history, including previous convictions for possession of a samurai sword. Authorities considered him a high risk to public safety due to the nature of his crimes and his past record.

In sentencing, the court imposed a six-year prison term, complemented by an additional four years on licence. Furthermore, Tingay was issued a lifetime sexual harm prevention order, emphasizing the severity of his actions and the ongoing risk he poses. The judge condemned his conduct as 'depraved, perverted and utterly grotesque,' condemning the violation of the bodies of loved ones and the immeasurable suffering inflicted upon their families.
