DALE ADAMS FROM PETERBOROUGH SENTENCE EXTENDED FOR ADDITIONAL SEXUAL OFFENCES
In March 2013, Dale Adams, a 32-year-old man from Peterborough, saw his prison sentence extended after new allegations of sexual offences emerged. Adams was originally sentenced in 2010 to 12 years in prison for a series of sexual offenses committed between 1998 and 2005. However, after a further victim came forward, alleging he had raped her, Adams was re-interviewed while in custody and subsequently charged with multiple new offences. These included three counts of rape, two counts of sexual touching, and inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity. The offences took place in Peterborough between 2007 and 2010. Adams pleaded guilty to all charges at Peterborough Crown Court, and on February 28, he received an additional 12-and-a-half-year sentence, to run concurrently with his original term. Detective Constable Natalie Bottom, who led the investigation, stated: “Adams is a dangerous paedophile who targeted a number of children over a prolonged period of time. His actions were pure evil and have left a number of victims deeply traumatised. They will have to live with his abuse for the rest of their lives. The latest victim showed great bravery in coming forward to ensure he has been brought to justice. I hope all of his victims can take some comfort from the fact he has been sentenced to a lengthy time behind bars and is no longer free to hurt anybody else.” In 2010, Adams was convicted of multiple charges, including indecent assault, rape, sexual activity with a child, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, and common assault. Upon release, he will also be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order, which prohibits him from having unsupervised contact with children under 16.
