NEWCASTLE-UNDER-LYME MAN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING VULNERABLE WOMAN
A predator named Craig Potts has been sentenced after he forcibly made a woman engage in sexual acts with his associates early last year.
The victim, described as vulnerable, bravely reported the incident after a friend encouraged her to contact the police.
Potts, who resides in Newcastle-under-Lyme, was arrested in May and initially denied the allegations.
However, the jury found him guilty of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent after the trial.
He was sentenced to eight years in prison, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £228, and will be under a lifelong sexual offender notification requirement upon release.
Det.
Constable Jessica Hill of Staffordshire Police commented on Potts's unrepentant attitude and praised the victim's resilience, emphasizing their commitment to supporting victims and prosecuting sexual predators.
