AYRSHIRE MAN ACCUSED OF RECORDING SEX WITHOUT CONSENT AND DOMESTIC ABUSE
A man allegedly recorded sex with a woman without her consent, as well as alleged domestic abuse and pretending to be his ex partner on her social media.Court papers state the 31-year-old Craig Imrie of Townhead, Dalmellington, is accused of operating equipment to observe a woman engaging in a private act between May 1, 2017 and July 31, 2017.
He is also alleged to have filmed and photographed the woman without her knowledge or consent, both while she was in a state of undress and during sexual intercourse at an address in Ayr.
Additionally, Mr.
Imrie is alleged to have behaved in a threatening or abusive manner towards a woman who was then his partner, from November 2, 2017 to December 24, 2020, at addresses in Mauchline and Ayr.
Prosecutors claim he shouted, swore, slammed doors, threw jackets and baby seats from a car, and struck car doors against external walls.
He is also accused of throwing a child's carry cot at her, causing injury, and seizing a pen she possessed, then throwing it across the room.
The charges include posting and sending messages displaying her naked and engaged in sexual acts with him, for others to view without her consent.
Further allegations state that he lied about her and attempted to control her actions, including her appearance and weight, and induced her to give him her social media and online banking credentials.
He is accused of tracking her movements by activating her phone's location, and pretending to be her on her social media.
The court has charged him with aggravated abuse of a partner or ex-partner.
Imrie's legal representative stated he pleaded not guilty to all charges during the case at Ayr Sheriff Court.
The case has been adjourned for a pre-trial hearing later this year.
