ABERDEEN MAN LIVING IN ORKNEY TO BE SENTENCED FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE IN INVERNESS
A 39-year-old man formerly from Aberdeen now residing in Orkney is scheduled to be sentenced at Inverness Sheriff Court next month after admitting to a domestic abuse charge.
Craig Cooper, who currently lives on Bridge Street, Kirkwall, appeared before Sheriff Eric Brown, confessing to engaging in a course of domestic abuse against his partner in a house located on Abban Street, Inverness, between June 20 and June 22, 2021.
The allegations state that he acted aggressively towards her, shouting, swearing, making derogatory remarks, kicking, and throwing items around the house, which led to property damage.
The defence solicitor, John MacColl, indicated that Cooper is currently serving a community payback order, hence a background report is necessary before sentencing.
Sheriff Eric Brown deferred the sentencing to June 23, pending further review and before the court, significant details of the abuse and the defendant's current circumstances are outlined.
