JAILED AFTER XBOX COMMENTS OVERHEARD DURING ASSAULT
A domestic abuser has been jailed for nearly three years after one of his vicious attacks was overheard by Xbox players.Connor McQuade’s victim was playing online when he attacked her in one incident during months of violent abuse.
The gamers reported her screams and clearly heard her saying: “Connor just hit me.” At Dundee Sheriff Court, McQuade, 23, of Kirkcaldy, admitted carrying out a series of assaults between August last year and January, as well as behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
Jailing McQuade for 35 months, Sheriff George Way told him he was “really getting out of hand in terms of disorderly conduct and violence”.
Fiscal depute Nicola Caira told the court: “On October 17 at 11pm the complainer was on the X-Box, chatting with others, and an argument broke out with the accused about cigarettes.
“It escalated and resulted in assault.
He walked towards her and pushed her, sending her into a wall.
“He elbowed her in the face and punched her, resulting in a black eye.
“People on the Xbox chat function could hear her screaming in the background.
“She said ‘Connor just hit me’ and she ended up on the floor.” McQuade’s abuse was heard by online XBox players.
