CONSTRUCTION MANAGER JAILED FOR MURDER OVER JEALOUSY AND AFFAIRS
A construction firm manager who strangled his ex-partner and scrawled "that's the price you pay for having four affairs" on the wall of her flat has been jailed for murder.Colin Dymond stabbed Sarah Pollock, 41, twice in the neck when she was unconscious at her home in Bournemouth.
Ms Pollock was found on 25 March after failing to turn up to work.
Dymond, 53, admitted murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 16 and a half years.
Police said the pair had been in a relationship for about five years and had lived together for some of that time.
Following his arrest, police made a public appeal to locate his missing hire car, which was eventually found in an underground station in London containing significant evidence, including a blood-stained jumper.
The victim's family issued a statement describing the murder as "horrifying and traumatic," emphasizing the loss of Sarah Pollock and condemning Dymond's actions as "cowardly," stating that "all our family are broken" and that his time in jail cannot compensate for their loss.
Det Insp Mark Samuels described the murder as a "selfish, callous and horrible act," encouraging victims of violent or potentially violent relationships to seek help.
Kerry Maylin, principal crown advocate for the Crown Prosecution Service in Wessex, stated Dymond was "consumed" by jealousy, which led him to carry out a "catastrophic attack".
She explained that after the murder, Dymond left the flat, traveled to Eastleigh, and returned to the scene, where he told police he saw her lifeless body and covered her with a duvet, as he did not like seeing her like that.
When police arrived, they saw a note written on the wall that read: "The price you pay Sarah for having 4 affairs, I have killed myself...
I have tried everything, sorry I snapped, so many lives devastated, now I am so sorry, you were my life, I worshipped you, rest in peace, all my love." Colin Dymond admitted to being the author of this chilling note.
