CLIVE CARTER'S BRUTAL MURDER AT GLASGOW SECC SHOCKS CITY
In a chilling and tragic incident at the Glasgow Scottish Event Campus (SECC), Clive Carter, a security guard employed by G4S, was found guilty of the heinous murder of a female conference delegate, Khanokporn Satjawat.
The assault took place on November 12, 2012, within the confines of the Clyde Auditorium, a prominent part of the SECC complex.
Carter, who was tasked with security duties that day, committed the brutal act inside a ladies' restroom, where he used a fire extinguisher to bludgeon Ms.
Satjawat, leading to her tragic death.
During the trial, Carter maintained a stance of denial, claiming he had no recollection of the assault and suggesting diminished responsibility for his actions.
However, the court was convinced beyond doubt of his guilt, and he was subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 20 years.
The presiding judge, Lord Matthews, described the crime as
