HARTLEPOOL MAN ADMITS ATTEMPTED MURDER AFTER CAPTIVITY AND POISONING
A man identified as Clint Thompson, who has no fixed abode, has pleaded guilty in court to charges of false imprisonment and attempted murder following an attack in Hartlepool on April 24.During the incident, Thompson held a woman captive and was said to have forced her to swallow a quantity of paracetamol in an apparent attempt to murder her.
He also attempted to suffocate his victim during this assault.
The woman was subsequently taken to the hospital and received treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening.
The case was heard at Teesside Crown Court last week, where Thompson admitted his guilt.
The judge, Jonathan Carroll, has adjourned the case until October 15, when Thompson is expected to be sentenced.
