INVERNESS MAN ADMITS SERIES OF SEX ASSAULTS ON CARERS
Clifford Sturrock, a 64-year-old man, has admitted to a series of serious sexual offenses against six women by targeting carers sent to assist him at his Bruce Gardens home in 2021.He engaged in multiple acts of sexual assault, exposed himself, made sexual comments, and carried out sex acts in front of care workers.
His disturbing behavior included comments like calling one woman 'stunning' and inviting her into his bed, as well as behaviors that worsened over time, such as walking around naked despite being asked to stop, and grabbing and touching carers inappropriately.
In one incident, he was found 'naked from the waist down,' inviting a carer to 'sit on' him, and he regularly masturbated in front of others.
Other specific incidents involved him groping a woman while she was feeding him, touching her breasts, and making lewd remarks such as, 'I would like to put my d*** inside you.' In November 2021, he exposed himself and told a carer, 'Look at that,' later grabbing her genitals over her clothing in December.
All incidents were reported to police by the care team.
The court heard that the care team initially visited him in pairs due to his conduct.
Sheriff Ian Cruickshank called for additional reports and placed Sturrock on the sex offenders register immediately, with the duration to be determined at sentencing.
His behavior has been described as highly disturbing and in need of legal action, culminating with his placement on the sex offenders register.
