A convicted rapist is back behind bars after subjecting a woman to a harrowing ordeal.

The 35 year-old today pleaded guilty at the High Court in Glasgow to a charge of engaging in a course of abusive behaviour.

The crime occurred at different addresses in the city's East End between June 2022 and August 2023.

He will be sentenced next month.

The hearing was told Seeley was previously jailed for six years in 2014 for the rape of a teenage girl.

Seeley was subject to two bail orders at the time of the latest offence.

Prosecutor Chris McKenna told the court that Seeley would often call the woman horrible names making her feel "worthless".

The attacker later demanded she carry out a sex act.

The court heard she was pressured despite making it clear she did not want to do so.

Seeley also once held a knife to her throat leaving her "terrified" and strangled her with one hand, but she managed to break free.

He assaulted her again after she demanded he stop recording her on his mobile phone.

She was injured when he hurled a drinks can at her, then grabbed her by the hair and dragged her across the room before spitting on her.

He told her that if she called police, he would claim she assaulted him.

The woman dialed 999 and officers found her crying and injured outside Seeley's home, while she received WhatsApp calls and texts from him after.

Officers arrested Seeley when they entered his flat.

The court was told Seeley had other convictions for violence.

Judge Lord Scott continued his remand in custody as sentencing was deferred for reports.

He was again put on the sex offenders list.
