FELIXSTOWE MAN CHRISTOPHER POULTON SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGE OFFENSES
In May 2021, a man from Felixstowe, Christopher Poulton, was sentenced following his possession of child abuse images and extreme pornography.
According to Ipswich Crown Court, authorities responded in August 2019 after receiving information that an email address and a mobile phone linked to Poulton had been used to view indecent images of children.
Police visited a caravan on Walton Avenue, Felixstowe, where Poulton was residing.
Prosecutor Marc Brown revealed that a laptop belonging to Poulton contained a total of 52 images classified as most serious Level A indecent images of children, 45 at Level B, and 82 at Level C.
Additionally, there were 2,489 extreme pornographic images and 34 videos.
Poulton, aged 62 and residing on Cobbold Road, Felixstowe, pleaded guilty to three charges of creating indecent images of children.
He was sentenced to four months in prison, suspended for two years.
The court also imposed a two-year community order, a 35-day rehabilitation activity requirement, and a mandate to complete 80 hours of unpaid work.
Furthermore, Poulton was ordered to pay £500 in costs, and to register as a sex offender for a period of seven years.
