MAN WHO EXPOSED HIMSELF OUTSIDE STATION JAILED
A man who exposed himself to people near Derby railway station has received a seven-month prison sentence following an inquiry by the British Transport Police (BTP).
Christopher Pittar, aged 44 and his address listed as Princip Street, Birmingham, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on 18 March, where he was convicted of one count of Exposure and pleaded guilty to a second charge of Indecent Behaviour in a Police Station.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years and was given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) that lasts five years.
This order prevents him from entering any UK railway station without a valid ticket or reason, and from removing or touching himself at stations or on trains.
He was additionally ordered to pay a victim surcharge.
Court proceedings detailed that on 26 February 2025, shortly before 7pm, Pittar was seen wandering outside Derby station.
He then lay on the ground, lifted his jacket, and exposed himself while pulling down his trousers, shouting to draw attention.
A woman witnessing the incident moved away and reported his actions to a BTP officer on patrol.
Pittar was promptly arrested and taken into custody.
During his time in custody, he exposed himself a second time to officers and staff present.
