A dog trainer was caught brutally attacking his own pet in a park.
Christopher McIvor, 29, pounced on Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Etho in Glasgow's Yorkhill on June 29, 2025.
McIvor - a trainer of seven years - repeatedly struck Etho to the body and attempted to choke the dog.
The violence was overseen by a couple from their apartment window who contacted the authorities.
McIvor - who runs Christopher's Canines - claimed that he was trying to prevent Etho from attacking another dog.
However, he was found guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court of causing unnecessary suffering to Etho.
The court heard that Kerr McLaren and partner Kathleen Fearns, 23, heard yelping coming from outside their flat and went to their window.
Mr McLaren saw McIvor "strike" Etho with his hands and kicked him "once or twice." The witness described the scene as "highly unnecessary," and Miss Fearns saw Mr McIvor kicking the dog multiple times.
McIvor claimed he lifted the dog for no more than five seconds to stop an attack, and Sheriff Kevin McCarron described McIvor's behavior as "inhumane and unnecessary," noting that his actions appeared more like punishment.
Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month.
