AMMANFORD MAN JAILED FOR SERIOUS CHILD SEXUAL OFFENSES
A man carried out sexual acts with a schoolgirl and made her send him indecent images of herself.Christopher John Austin appeared at Swansea Crown Court for sentencing after being convicted of six counts of sexual activity with a girl under 16, one count of sexual communication with a child, and two counts of possessing indecent photographs of a child.
The court heard how the 37-year-old discussed pornography with his victim, telling her he was 'horny a lot'.
On one occasion, he hugged, kissed, and stuck his tongue into her mouth, then instructed her to send him indecent images, which she complied with.
They performed sex acts together, and he also had intercourse with her.
His victim had to go to a pharmacy to obtain the morning-after pill, disclosed the abuse to school staff, and later reported it to the police with her mother.
Police investigations revealed internet searches by Austin for pornography, real rape and incest videos, including disturbing queries like 'son gets mom pregnant' and 'real rape sex'.
There were two Category A indecent images of the victim, as well as videos and Category C images.
Initially, Austin claimed he suffered from blackouts and had been hacked.
A victim impact statement described how she constantly replays what happened, suffers from panic attacks, low moods, anxiety, and struggles to concentrate.
Austin, of Teglan Park in Ammanford, was sentenced to five years in prison.
Following the sentence, Dyfed-Powys Police detective sergeant Carl Pocock stated that the conviction was for serious sexual offenses and expressed gratitude to the victim for their courage, hoping the sentence will help the victim move on.
