MAN, 18, ADMITS UNDER AGE SEX CHARGE
A psychologist assessed Evans IQ as being in the bottom 0.3% of his peers, describing his mental age as being between eight-and-a-half and nine-and-a-half years old.Leeds Crown Court heard the teenager, who was described as being of “extremely low” intelligence, had been in a relationship with the 15-year-old girl and admitted having sex with her.
The court was told she was introduced to Evans by a friend and the girl had started to go to his house.
But when her mum found out, she attempted to stop her going and police were informed.
The court was told the girl went to Evan’s address in April despite him being warned not to harbour her by police.
He was later arrested and charged.
Evans pleaded guilty to three counts of sex with a 15-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
Defense for Evans urged Judge Hickey to consider youth sentencing guidelines due to Evans mental age and the activity happening in the context of a relationship.
Evans, of Chidswell Gardens in Dewsbury, had previous convictions for theft and was granted bail prior to sentence.
